Your Exit Item doesn't have to be Sparklers!

You know at the end of a wedding day when all the guests line up outside and make a hype tunnel for the couple to run through on the way to their getaway car? It’s such a fun and sweet part of the wedding day, and everyone LOVES those end-of-the-best-day-of-their-life photos!! 

As someone who has been a part of hundreds of weddings, I can say that the most common exit item from a wedding day is the sparkler. They are fun, they can make for really pretty photos, but they are not the only option!! Here are some other exit item options for you to choose from on your wedding day…

#1 Bubbles!

Bubbles are such a fun exit item! They turn up great in photos & they just fit some people’s personalities better.

#2 Ribbons 

Ribbons are cute and they can double as a wedding souvenir!

#3 Confetti/flower petals 

This is a more traditional exit item, similar to the bird seed that people used to exit their wedding ceremonies with, so clearly it is a good option! 

You can choose cute confetti or for a more eco friendly approach, flower petals are beautiful!

The biggest reason you may want to consider choosing an exit item other than sparklers as your exit item is that, many times (especially for summer weddings), it might not be dark out when you want to exit your wedding day. This happened to me at my wedding. We had decided that we wanted to exit our wedding with sparklers, but we got married in July and we didn’t have a super long wedding day. We exited at about 8PM, and it was still pretty bright outside!! The photos still turned out cute, but the sparklers really didn’t shine through in the photos. 

I have been a part of countless weddings that have experienced this same thing, and I think that couples deserve to know that there are options other than sparklers!
