Don’t Feel Comfortable in front of the camera?
Do you ever want to hire a photographer to have your memories captured, but you just don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera?
If this is you, trust me, you are not alone, and I have a hack that can help you out- book a session where your photographer captures you doing an activity!
Tip #1: Choose an Activity to do During your Session!
Instead of awkwardly standing in front of the camera, choose an activity that you and your partner love doing together. Go out for ice cream, have a picnic on the beach, play mini golf, have a paint date- literally any activity can be turned into a super cute photo op.

Tip #2: Just Keep Moving!
Movement is key when you are trying to achieve candid, less awkward looking photos. Try walking away from the camera, spinning your partner around, or running along the beach. You might feel a little awkward at times, but the results speak for themselves. Movement in photos is just TOO CUTE!
Tip #3: Pretend no one else is around
You will feel so much more comfortable at your session when you decide to be in the moment with your partner. Stop thinking about what people around you might be thinking, and just enjoy your time with the person you love.
Odds are that anyone who is looking at you is just wishing they looked as good as you do anyways! You are definitely the main character during your session. Don’t let anyone else make you think otherwise.
Tip #4: Have fun!
The best way to feel less awkward in front of the camera is to have fun! Enjoy your session, enjoy the quality time you get to spend with your partner. Enjoy it ALL!
Still not sure if you will feel comfortable in front of the camera? Feel free to chat with your photographer about it! Making you comfortable and ensuring that you enjoy your session time (as well as get beautiful photos) is their job!
