Downtown Corpus Christi
As you may know, I am new to Corpus Christi, so I have been on a mission to find new & beautiful locations to take my couples for sessions, and I think I may have found a new favorite- downtown Corpus Christi.
At first glance, I really wasn’t sure about Corpus Christi’s downtown. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, but I am used to places with small town charm, and Corpus just was just different.
Even though I was slightly unsure of it, I WANTED to like it. So, I found a crazy cute couple to model for me and we hit the town.
Stop #1. Water Street
Water Street is maybe the cutest area of downtown Corpus Christi. There are a lot of areas that are run down or under construction, but Water Street is one area that seems to be keeping up with the times! There are a variety of restaurants and little shops along Water Street, one being Water Street Central Kitchen. We just snapped a few photos outside of this bakery because they have a cute little coffee sign, but I 1000% recommend going and buying a pastry from them! Also, the inside is even cuter than the outside. Like, it is so cute, that I would hire their interior designer to design my future home.
Anyways, I love this spot, and it made for a cute little place to start our downtown session!
Stop #2. Lawrence Street
This spot was chosen at random! I parked my car a couple blocks away from where I was meeting the couple so I could scout out some spots along the way. I saw this street and it had zero cars parked on it! So, obviously, I decided it would be a good place to go and run around in the middle of the street. There were a few times that we had to run out the way of oncoming traffic, but we got the shots we were after and it ended up being a good location!
Stop #3. The Waterfront
THIS SPOT! Honestly stole the show. If I had to choose just one downtown location, it would be this one. We walked down to the marina area near Joe’s Crab Shack, and it was the perfect spot because #1. you can see the city’s skyline perfectly, #2. there are cute boats behind you, and #3. you can see the water! This spot takes all the best things about Corpus and puts it into the same place. I highly recommend this location for your next downtown Corpus session!
