Downtown Corpus Christi Engagement Session
When I first moved to Corpus Christi I hosted a giveaway on Instagram for one lucky couple to get a FREE couples session with me! I just wanted to start my time in Corpus strong by serving couples in my new town, and giving them the opportunity to get some amazing photos together free of charge. That’s how I met Yesenia and Esteban.
When the giveaway had ended, and my giveaway wheel had spoken, I reached out to Yesenia to let her know that she had won the free session. Once we were all aware that they had won, had a moment to celebrate and get excited, then we started to plan out their dream session.
She told me that they loved the downtown vibe and they also would love to go check out the Cathedral downtown. Obviously, I loved everything about that, so I recommended that we start their session at the marina downtown.
SIDENOTE: I love taking couples to the marina because, in my opinion, it has one of the best views in all of downtown Corpus! I love having the boats in the background of the photos, and you can’t get a better view of the Corpus skyline than down at the marina. But anyways, I digress.
As we arrived at the marina for their session, they told me that they really weren’t “photo” people and they don’t get photos taken very often. I love it when this is the case because it really gives me a chance to prove that taking photos can be really fun! So, we started the session, started taking photos, and we started chatting and getting to know each other a little bit better.
I learned that Yesenia and Esteban had been married for about four years now. When they got married, they just had a very simple, intimate backyard ceremony with close friends and family. It was what they called their “COVID” wedding. I am familiar with this concept because my sister and her husband actually had a similar situation. When the wedding that they had been planning got canceled, they ended up having a small intimate wedding with only close family in attendance.
Then they started telling me about the second wedding that they are in the process of planning now. They are going to be having the wedding that they had originally wanted to host back in 2020 in May of this year.
Once we got all the photos that we wanted at the marina, we headed over to the cathedral. It was stunning! The green accents, the arches, all of it was just so beautiful.
We ended the session, parted ways, and soon I delivered their gallery. To that delivery, I got this response…
And the rest is history. I’ll get to celebrate their big day with them in May and I could not be more excited!!
I love how even doing a free session for someone can lead to so many amazing opportunities!!
