Photo spots on Kauai
Last December my husband and I decided to take a trip to Kauai, and it has quickly become one of our favorite trips we have taken together. First of all, it was STUNNING! Everything about it was so so beautiful- the landscape, the ocean, the waterfalls, the food, literally everything. I would recommend visiting there to anyone and everyone I meet.
Because we loved it SO much, I am fully prepared to go back at any moment! While we were there, I couldn’t help but take note of all the places I would love to photograph a beautiful couple. I am considering the trip we took together a scouting trip, and now I am ready to go back and do some shoots!
So! If I were to go back and photograph some couples, here are some of the places we visited that I would absolutely recommend:

1. Tunnels Beach
Tunnels Beach is on the very north end of the island, pretty close to the Haena State Park, which is the furthest spot you can travel to by car on the island. Tunnels Beach was one of those stops we just decided to make because we had nothing else to do, but it exceeded every expectation I had! We parked on a little side street with barely any parking, grabbed our things, and walked down a path lined with tropical trees that spit us out onto the beach. The beach itself was beautiful, but the best part was the mountain you could see off in the distance. It was breathtaking. It was so beautiful that we came back a second day in a row in our nice clothes and took some photos of ourselves there.
I would do just about anything to get a couple in front of my camera in that spot!!

2. Hanalei Bay
Hanalei Bay is also on the north side of the island. We went there for a surf lesson, and even the drive in was amazing! It is a pretty normal drive (for Hawaii standards I guess) that eventually rounds a corner where you can see an entire valley that is almost unreal. The valley is filled with luscious greenery for miles, and it is tucked in between huge, beautiful mountains. In the distance you can see Hanakāpīʻai Falls, the tallest waterfall on the island. It’s pretty crazy. The beach there is also beautiful, surrounded by mountains and palm trees. The town of Hanalei is also adorable. Lots of cute places for a cup of coffee after a sunrise photo session!

3. Wai`oli Hui`ia Church
If you are looking for a church in paradise to have your wedding at, Wai`oli Hui`ia Church is the place. This adorable chapel is in Hanalei and it is stunning. When we drove by it, I wished that we had gotten married there. It is an adorable green chapel nestled in the valley with a tropical mountain backdrop- can you get much better than that?!

4. Nāpali Coast
THIS was the reason we decided to take a trip to Kauai. The Nāpali Coast is maybe the most stunning thing I have ever seen in my life. The cliffs, the water, the dolphins that jumped all around our boat, literally everything. SO STUNNING. It would be AMAZING to get a couple out on a boat in front of the Nāpali Coast. It is just the most beautiful thing ever.

Bonus location… Napali Coast, but in a helicopter!
If you are looking for an adventure, you need to go on a helicopter ride. I can already see the wild, adventure filled photos I could get of the two of you in a helicopter, wearing your goofy headsets, taking in all the sights. It would be perfect.
